MINI CHALLENGE UK returns to Dunlop tyres from 2016 2The MINI CHALLENGE championship organisers Total Track announce a new multi-year deal to return to Dunlop as their sole tyre partner from 2016.

The MINI CHALLENGE has been the single make championship for the new MINI since 2002 and is renowned for competitive, fair and cost-effective racing.

The change back to Dunlop reinforces the path from MINI CHALLENGE to BTCC, which in recent years has become more pronounced with a number of BTCC teams such as BTCC Champions Team Dynamics entering the MINI CHALLENGE. The addition of a BTCC test for our 2016 Champion is the icing on the cake.

Pirelli have been a great partner over the last few years and I would personally like to thank Matthew Corby and his team for their support. The Pirelli product has been excellent and the service we have received from Pirelli and Pro-Tyre has been of a very high standard.

Our competitors are our number 1 priority and we are also very pleased to confirm that competitors entering the 2016 season will receive a generous changeover package from Dunlop and Total Track”.

Dunlop UK Motorsport Manager Michael Butler said:
“We are proud to partner the MINI CHALLENGE again, as it is a prestigious, professionally run, premium championship at some of the UK’s best circuits. Rally for Heroes is back

FridayHaving raised over £15,000 for the charity Help for Heroes with the running of London Rally for Heroes in 2013, it was only a matter of time before the rally would return

This April will see Aldershot Rally for Heroes continue the good work. Initially organised by Southern Car Club this time it will be that club and their new partners Farnborough and District Motor Club and with cooperation from the Association of Central Southern Motor Clubs.

The event is scheduled for April 10th/11th and will feature over fifty stage miles, with the promise of a brand new special stage set in the heart of Aldershot, as well as a new Service Area in the town.

The Military are keen to recreate the enthusiasm shown two years ago, and are fully supporting the move to the spiritual home of the British Army. There is unwavering and enthusiastic support for the event from Aldershot Garrison, Rushmoor Council as well as Military establishments and contractors.

Event director Rick Smith said “ we were very pleased with the inaugural Rally for Heroes, based at Brooklands, now to be invited again by our friends in the army to organise the second such rally at the home of the British Army is special indeed. We want to call on competitors, marshals and fans in the UK and Europe to come and enjoy the event, and raise more than we did last time for Help for Heroes”

More information will be announced in due course, but already support for the event is growing.

The event has a new website www.aldershotrallyforheroes.com as well as the usual range of social media where all supporters and competitors are encouraged to use and join.

More details will be released in due course, but for now ensure you keep the weekend of April 10th/11th and come to Aldershot and join in the fun.
