TF Sport aiming high at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

TF Sport aiming high at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1With momentum on their side, TF Sport are all set for the 24 Hours of Le Mans this coming weekend (17-18 June, 2017) with Salih Yoluc, Euan Hankey and Rob Bell driving the #90 Aston Martin Vantage.

The British-based team has made an impact already this year, taking victory in the first round of the European Le Mans Series at Silverstone and then a fighting second position at Monza. The team lead the LMGTE standings by nine points are naturally seeking a strong showing in what is the biggest race in sports cars.

Tom Ferrier
“We’ve had a good year so far and we obviously are aiming to get a solid result in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Both at Monza for the test and last weekend at Le Mans we had a few niggles in the test, but we’re confident that we have a good driver line-up with Rob joining Euan and Salih for this event and that we will field a competitive car.

“This is our first 24 Hour race here but we showed well in the Road to Le Mans last year so we are aiming to work over the next two weeks and get a strong result. Perhaps even a little luck here and there wouldn’t go amiss!”

Euan Hankey
“Obviously racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is every racing drivers dream and it’s been mine for a long time, so I’m super-excited. Salih’s progress and pace has been a platform for our success this year and it’s been a case of so far so good in ELMS this year. The team and car have been fantastic.

“We know Rob Bell very well and he’s no stranger to Le Mans having competed eight times, so we’re really in good hands and we can take some of his guidance, tips and tricks as well. We’ll take our time throughout the week and take it one step at a time.”

Salih Yoluc
“I always have the best in mind, to win, especially with the driver line-up we have. There will be some tough competition out there but I believe we have enough. We will need a bit of luck as well in a 24-hour race.

“The test wasn’t the smoothest as we missed almost half of the test day, so did only half as many laps as our competitors, but we had some good pace at the end. We will have a good chance for success. In the tests the Porsche entries were quite quick on the straights so I expect them to be a good challenge but I think we will be competitive.”

Rob Bell
“I’ve known Tom Ferrier for a long while, we even karted together may years ago and we have both grown up in motorsport without really ever crossing paths but he’s known me and my record and I know of his and the incredible team that he has built in recent years. I have a connection with Aston Martin and have plenty of Le Mans experience, so it was a logical decision to join Tom, Euan and Salih.

“I didn’t get to run at the test last weekend at Le Mans, but did take part in the Monza test earlier in the year which went well and I have good experience with Dunlop from my time as a development driver for them in sports cars, so I’m really looking forward to this year’s event, my ninth and hope I can help TF Sport achieve success at Le Mans.”
